Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a store leader to oversee Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training and developing front end associates. You will drive customer service and store performance in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, scheduling, and adherence to safety and quality standards while supporting budgeted results and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar, and maintain accreditation within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates with ongoing performance management.
• Maintain effective work schedules for To Go associates to meet online order demand.
• Provide leadership and motivation to promote our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Partner with department managers to ensure fresh orders and handle out-of-stocks properly.
• Ensure return-to-stock items are handled promptly, especially refrigerated/perishable items.
• Model exceptional customer service and use product knowledge to meet customer expectations.
• Control store expenses through proper ordering and equipment care.
• Use company tools (financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, CAO, and business information systems).
• Ensure department appearance, quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
• Understand scheduling, sales, projections, wage percent, interviewing, hiring, and training processes.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report accidents as per procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and security standards.
• Complete CBT and Training materials; provide recognition and constructive counseling as needed.
