Job summary

Dyno Nobel in Graham, Kentucky, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for Commissioning and Operations to lead design, commissioning, and optimization of the new TNT manufacturing facility’s automation. You’ll oversee DCS, SIS, PLCs and industrial networks from FEED through startup, then into long‑term plant operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Control Systems, or Automation Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience with DCS, SIS, PLCs, HMI/SCADA and industrial networks.
• Knowledge of IEC 61511 / functional safety principles.
• Commissioning and start-up experience preferred.
• Willingness to undergo ATF background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for process automation and industrial control systems across asset lifecycle.
• Assure control system architecture from FEED through detailed design and implementation.
• Review EP(M) control philosophies, diagrams, specifications and docs.
• Ensure alignment with Dyno Nobel standards and cybersecurity requirements.
• Support SIS design assurance, SIL determinations, safety reviews and validation.
• Lead FAT/SAT, commissioning, start-up and system validation for DCS/SIS/PLCs.
• Troubleshoot, tune, optimize and upgrade control systems for reliability.
• Develop and optimize alarm management and operator interfaces.
• Ensure readiness aligns with OR milestones and smooth transition to operations.
• Manage lifecycle of automation assets (DCS, PLCs, SIS, networks, software, hardware).
