Job summary

Dyno Nobel in Graham, KY, seeks a Control Systems Engineer to lead commissioning and operations of the new TNT plant. You will design, commission, and optimize DCS, SIS, PLCs, and industrial networks from front-end engineering through startup and long-term operation.

After startup, you will own the lifecycle and reliability of the control systems, performing FAT/SAT, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control Systems, or Automation Engineering required.
5+ years of experience in supporting industrial automation and control systems.
Experience with DCS, SIS, PLCs, HMI/SCADA and industrial networks.
Knowledge of IEC 61511 and functional safety principles.
Commissioning and startup experience preferred.
Must be willing to undergo ATF background check for explosives.
Positive attitude, team player.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for process automation and industrial control systems across the asset lifecycle.
Assure control system architecture from FEED through detailed design and implementation.
Review control philosophies, specs, and documentation to ensure compliance with standards.
Support SIS design assurance, SIL determinations, and safety reviews per IEC 61511.
Lead FAT/SAT, commissioning, start-up, and validation for DCS, SIS, and PLC systems.
Support troubleshooting, tuning, upgrades, and alarm management improvements.
Ensure readiness aligns with OR milestones and handover to operations.
