Job summary

GFT is seeking a PART TIME Traffic Dispatcher Supervisor to lead the Regional Traffic Management Center operations in Nashville, TN. The role requires onsite presence and involves supervising Traffic Technicians, ensuring performance, and coordinating incident responses.

You will interact with TDOT management, emergency responders, and stakeholders while maintaining high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement within the TMC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Engineering, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in traffic operations, transportation management, public safety operations, emergency communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily TMC operations and assigned Traffic Technicians.
• Oversee shift activities to ensure contractual and operational performance requirements are achieved.
• Ensure compliance with TDOT policies, procedures, performance metrics, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate responses to major incidents, emergency events, weather impacts, and special events.
• Review operational logs, incident documentation, reports, and performance metrics for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct employee training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and workforce planning activities.
• Coordinate with TDOT management, emergency responders, maintenance personnel, and external stakeholders.
• Lead quality assurance and quality control activities within the TMC.
• Develop corrective action plans when performance deficiencies are identified.
• Support continuity of operations planning and emergency management activities.
• Participate in contract meetings, operational reviews, and management briefings.
