GFT is seeking a part-time Traffic Dispatcher Supervisor for the Regional Traffic Management Center in Nashville, TN. The role oversees Traffic Technicians, ensures contract compliance, and coordinates incident and event responses.

As a key member of the regional TMC leadership, you will supervise daily operations, manage staffing, training, and performance, and liaise with TDOT and other stakeholders.

GFT is seeking a PART TIME Traffic Dispatcher Supervisor for the Regional Traffic Management (TMC) Center in the Tennesee State Department of Transportation (TDOT) office located in Nashville, TN. This position requires onsite regular attendance at the Nashville, TNoffice.

Traffic Dispatchers are eligible for pay increases upon successful completion of each training level. As GFT continues to expand our transportation operations presence throughout Tennessee, we are seeking experienced professionals to support an anticipated statewide Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operations contract for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

What you’ll be challenged to do:

GFT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Traffic Supervisor to lead Traffic Management Center operations supporting the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The Traffic Supervisor will provide direct oversight of Traffic Technicians, ensure compliance with contract requirements, maintain operational performance standards, and support incident and event management activities throughout the assigned region.

This position serves as a key member of the regional TMC leadership team and is responsible for ensuring continuous, high-quality service delivery.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Supervise daily TMC operations and assigned Traffic Technicians.
• Oversee shift activities to ensure contractual and operational performance requirements are achieved.
• Ensure compliance with TDOT policies, procedures, performance metrics, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate responses to major incidents, emergency events, weather impacts, and special events.
• Review operational logs, incident documentation, reports, and performance metrics for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct employee training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and workforce planning activities.
• Coordinate with TDOT management, emergency responders, maintenance personnel, and external stakeholders.
• Lead quality assurance and quality control activities within the TMC.
• Develop corrective action plans when performance deficiencies are identified.
• Support continuity of operations planning and emergency management activities.
• Participate in contract meetings, operational reviews, and management briefings.

What you will bring to our firm:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Engineering, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in traffic operations, transportation management, public safety operations, emergency communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze operational data and make sound decisions during high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software systems.

What we prefer you bring:

• Previous Traffic Management Center supervisory experience.
• Experience managing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) operations.
• Incident Command System (ICS) certifications.
• Traffic Incident Management (TIM) certification.
• Experience with performance management, workforce development, and quality assurance programs.
• Experience supporting state DOT transportation operations contracts.

Compensation: Status: This position is contingent upon contract award, final scope confirmation, candidate qualifications, and TDOT approval.
