Job summary

GFT is seeking a full-time Traffic Dispatcher (Systems Operator I - Trainee) for the Regional Traffic Management Center in Nashville, TN. The position requires onsite attendance at the Nashville office and offers training-based pay increases as you progress through levels.

You will monitor conditions, coordinate responses, and operate ATMS within TDOT operations, contributing to safe and efficient traffic management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in transportation, public safety, IT, communications, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in traffic operations, dispatching, or related technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor statewide roadway conditions using CCTV, sensors, and ITS devices.
• Detect and document incidents, lane closures, hazards, and weather events.
• Coordinate responses with TDOT, law enforcement, and emergency services.
• Operate ATMS and related TMC systems.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain logs.
