Jones-Harrison Senior Living in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Medication Aide to support residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The role includes administering medications under nurse direction and providing senior resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares based on their care plan.
• Observe residents and report status clearly to staff.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Follow routines for taking vital signs, weights, and administering medications and treatments.
• Dispense medications with correct route, timing, and dose.
• Monitor for side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications, and purposes of medications.
• Maintain a clean medication cart.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Medication Aide to support residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility in Minneapolis, MN. This role is responsible for providing senior resident care and services, including administration of medications, under the direction of the nurse.

This position is a TMA patient support role with the following schedule and benefits:

• 24 hours in a 2-week pay period

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares based on individual plan of care
• Observe residents and report status to appropriate staff in a clear, concise manner
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
• Follow shift routines regarding measuring vital signs, weights, and administration of medications and treatments
• Dispense medications using the correct route, medication, resident time, and dose
• Maintain awareness of actual and potential side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications and purposes of medications
• Maintain a clean medication cart

Required Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Course
• Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
• Completion of a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution. This does not expire as long as NAR certification is current.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year None to 1 Year
