Job summary
Jones-Harrison Senior Living in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Medication Aide to support residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The role includes administering medications under nurse direction and providing senior resident care.
Schedule is 24 hours per 2-week pay period with Day/Evening shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays. Benefits include PTO, retirement matching, medical/dental, scholarships, and wage advance options.
Qualifications
- Nursing Assistant Course is required.
- Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry is required.
- Standardized medication administration training for unlicensed nursing home staff in Minnesota is required and does not expire while NAR is current.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal cares based on their care plan.
- Observe residents and report status clearly to staff.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
- Follow routines for taking vital signs, weights, and administering medications and treatments.
- Dispense medications with correct route, timing, and dose.
- Monitor for side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications, and purposes of medications.
- Maintain a clean medication cart.
