Qualifications

• General understanding of title insurance.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365, PDF or related software.
• Ability to comprehend legal descriptions and draw using a mapping program or by hand.
• Proficient in utilizing title plant search systems (TitlePoint, DataTrace).
• Proficient with title industry software such as Resware or SoftPro Select.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic searches and examinations of property titles to determine legal status and identify any defects or encumbrances.
• Review legal documents such as deeds, mortgages, liens, and judgments to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Prepare preliminary title reports and summaries, highlighting any issues or discrepancies.
• Conduct research in public records to trace the history of property ownership and verify title information.
• Communicate findings to clients and provide updates.
• Work closely with senior title examiners and team members to facilitate smooth real estate transactions.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices to enhance title examinations.
