Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for Tissue Typing on the Night Shift. The role involves preparing specimens, performing HLA typing by serological and molecular methods, and supporting 24/7 lab coverage for organ transplant programs.

Qualified candidates must hold NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or be eligible with provisional/limited permits and have relevant experience. Strong emphasis on quality control and safety will be expected.

Qualifications

• NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility including provisional/limited permit.
• Demonstrated relevant experience is required.
• Preference given to experience in molecular tissue typing and histocompatibility.
• Documentation of degree as required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and test tissue samples for histocompatibility procedures (solid organ or stem cell transplantation).
• Perform HLA typing by serological and molecular methods (SSP & SSO-Luminex).
• Conduct serum HLA antibody detection and donor–recipient crossmatch testing.
• Maintain quality control, safety protocols, and documentation; participate in continuing education.
