Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist II/III/IV in Histology. The role performs paraffin embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping, and immunohistochemistry under LIS systems, with QA documentation and maintenance responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will hold NYS licensure as a CLT or eligible, HT (ASCP) or eligible, and have experience with histology techniques; BS in life sciences or AS in Histotechnology preferred.

Qualifications

• NYS License as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or eligibility required.
• HT (ASCP) or eligible.
• Experience with renal, nerve, muscle specimens and biopsy grossing.

Responsabilités

• Paraffin and embed biopsy, routine surgical specimens, placenta, autopsy and research tissue.
• Perform paraffin microtomy to produce 2–5 micron sections.
• Stain, coverslip and assemble cases; label and distribute histology sections.
• Follow LIS protocols (Copath, Ventana Benchmark, Ultra, Symphony, Vantage).
• Complete special stains and immunohistochemistry; verify in Copath; document QA.
