Job summary

NHC is seeking a Tier II NOC Technician to join our growing team. You will be the escalation point for data-related issues, manage tickets, and coordinate with carriers to resolve outages. The role requires proactive communication and hands-on experience with networking gear.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a Tue-Sat shift (10am-7pm) and a flexible location in the United States. A strong foundation in Layer 1–3 networking and vendor hardware will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years hands-on experience with data networking in a support or NOC environment.
• Strong understanding of network topology and IP routing.
• Knowledge of subnetting, IP addressing, basic firewall, and L1–L3 concepts.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound customer communications for data-related requests and issues.
• Troubleshoot Layer 1–3 network problems including routing, switching, firewall rules, IP addressing, WAN/LAN connectivity.
• Coordinate with carriers and third-party vendors to resolve circuit or service-impacting issues.
• Monitor alerts and ticket queues, escalate complex issues as needed.
• Support and manage NHC-provided equipment (Juniper EX, Ubiquiti APs/routers, Cradlepoint/Peplink devices).
• Create/update/close tickets per protocols and assist in on-call rotations.
