Job summary

DCH Health System is seeking a Desktop Support Technician II to provide on-site IT desktop support in a healthcare setting. This role involves Windows PC/Laptop management, HW maintenance, software deployment, and hands-on equipment handling across patient care areas.

The position emphasizes secure handling per HIPAA training and strong problem-solving with users, vendors, and IT teams, with 40-hour weeks and on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates / Technical degree in Computer Science or related field with 1 year of relevant work experience.
• HS diploma / GED with a combination of relevant IT Certifications and 2+ years of relevant IT Desktop work experience.
• HS diploma / GED with 3+ years of relevant IT Desktop work experience.
• Higher level degrees, certifications and experience are preferred.
• IT Desktop Support experience in a Health Care IT setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, manage, and support Windows PCs & laptops, DELL WYSE thin clients, printers, copiers, phones, scanners, barcode readers, e-Sign devices, tablets, and other IT endpoint devices.
• Install, manage, and support all Desktop Hardware on DHCP and Static IP networks; may involve collaborating with vendors or other DCH technical departments.
• Install allowed software using approved application deployment systems or standard manual methods.
• Proactively improve IT performance, correct issues or restore service in cooperation with various User stakeholders and IT teams.
• Simulate or recreate User problems to understand operating difficulties; recommend system modifications or improvements.
• Commit to fostering an environment of heightened security by following IT Security Policies and HIPAA training annually.
• Document progress and complete tasks in the IT support solution; follow up on open cases with the customer.
• Respond promptly to phone calls and electronic communications.
• Use the knowledge base to resolve known issues; contribute to it for team-wide benefits.
• Escalate high impact or complex issues rapidly when necessary.
• Ensure success of escalated issues by documenting attempts and needed assistance.
• Participate in Desktop Team on-call coverage (usually 1 of 9 weeks).
