Job summary

Golden Hills IT LLC in Tehachapi, CA is seeking a Tier 1 IT Support Technician to join our hands-on MSP team. The role covers remote and on-site tickets, bench repairs, counter service, and client-site visits to resolve issues in person.

You'll grow through hands-on training in server administration, Active Directory, networking, and cybersecurity, with real opportunities to take on advanced work as skills develop. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ certification is required.
• Solid hands-on knowledge of computers, operating systems, and hardware.
• A working understanding of networking and cybersecurity basics.
• A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance (on-site client visits are a regular part of the job).
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude.
• A team-first mindset. You'll fit right in if you like helping teammates as much as clients.
• The drive to work independently and own problems from start to finish.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Resolve support tickets for business clients remotely and on-site
• Troubleshoot and set up networks, including switches, Wi-Fi, firewalls, cabling, and internet connectivity
• Support cybersecurity work: antivirus/EDR alerts, patching, MFA, and spotting phishing and suspicious activity
• Diagnose and repair laptops, desktops, and consumer devices
• Remove malware, reinstall operating systems, transfer data, and replace hardware
• Set up new computers, users, and Microsoft 365 accounts
• Check in walk-in customers and help them with repairs and purchases
• Document your work clearly and elevate issues when needed
• Pitch in on other MSP projects and duties as assigned
