Job summary

Windham Mountain Club in Windham, NY seeks a part-time Guest Scanner for the winter season. This in-person role requires early mornings, weekends, and holidays, with pay $18-$20 per hour based on experience.

You will guide guests in the lift loading area, assist with pass scanning, and escalate issues to the appropriate team. Outdoor work in all weather is required, with a focus on safety and excellent guest service for a positive ski-area experience.

  • Using pass scan tablet equipment to ensure adherence to pass policies in the lift loading area.
  • Coordinate with Lift Operations, Tickets/Passes Cashiers, and Guest Services to troubleshoot pass issues.
  • Assist Lift Operations staff with crowd control safety standards in the loading area.
  • Escort and/or direct guests to appropriate department as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional service in all guest interactions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to dress code.

Description

Welcome to Windham Mountain Club!
Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.
Seasonal Position: This part time role is available for the winter season.
Pay: $18-$20 per hour based on experience
Anticipated Start Dates: Around Thanksgiving week or the Beginning of December
Schedule: Will require working early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Conditions: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, and cold temperatures. Must be able to get to a from work in all weather conditions.
Overview of Position

This position is responsible for ensuring positive guest experiences with interaction in the lift loading areas related to pass scanning and issues that may arise when a pass does not scan as Active, or guest has other pass-related issues. A Guest Ticket Scanner should have a basic understanding of all activities involved in the lift line loading and crowd control area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Using pass scan tablet equipment and materials, ensure adherence to pass policies by guests entering lift loading area
  • Coordinate with Lift Operations Manager, Tickets/Passes Cashiers, and Guest Services to troubleshoot pass issues.
  • Assist Lift Operations staff with crowd control safety standards and protocol in loading area
  • Escort and/or direct guests to appropriate department as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional service in all guest interactions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to dress code at all times.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work in stressful, noisy, crowded, and distracting situations.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with both guests and employees in a positive, friendly, and helpful manner.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to perform fine motor skills congruent with operating computers and smart phones.
