Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in California is seeking a part-time SALES ASSOCIATE/MATERIAL HANDLER for the Magnolia Thrift Store. You will greet customers, stock merchandise, maintain a clean store and assist donors with receipts.

Pay is $16.90 per hour. Benefits include career growth, paid time off, employee discounts, and referral bonuses. Schedules are flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items for merchandising on the sales floor.
• Maintain the store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat and organized; perform cleaning duties as needed.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies in line with TSA procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages to ensure quality QA.
• Assist donors in removing donated items from vehicles and provide receipts.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack as instructed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
