Job summary

The Salvation Army Covina store is seeking a part-time SALES ASSOCIATE/MATERIAL HANDLER to assist customers, process donations, stock merchandise, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor while operating the POS system.

Under Store Manager supervision, you will support daily operations, safety, and policy compliance. Benefits include paid time off, employee discounts, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and Donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items for sale.
• Sort donations for processing according to standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization; perform cleaning duties as directed.
• Operate POS/Cash Register in accordance with policies.
• Receive, unload and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages.
• Assist in area around donation trailer/pod at shift start/end.
• Ensure safety standards and report hazards to management.
• Attend required store meetings and adhere to dress code.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
