The Salvation Army Fairbanks Corps Thrift Store is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations under the Thrift Store Manager. You will help with merchandising, staff supervision, donations, and cash handling, ensuring courteous customer service and efficient workflows.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least one year of supervisory retail experience, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a retail operation or equivalent structured environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle monetary transactions.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; be responsible, well organized, and dependable.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain excellent customer relations by giving prompt and courteous assistance to customers.
• Maintain cash register, ring in sales, corrections, and over-rings. Verify credit card denials or rejected credit cards. Collect credit cards from customers per machine instructions.
• Order merchandise and maintain adequate amount of goods on hand.
• Stock store, including, but not limited to, sorting, hanging, pricing, merchandising, and discarding of non-usable items.
• Pull outdated items, label, and return items to warehouse.
• Manage the receipt of donations and fill out donation receipts.
• Respond professionally to telephone inquiries, routing calls appropriately.
• Supervise staff and delegate duties as directed to ensure compliance with published directives and guidelines. Help ensure sufficient coverage in store at all times.
• Help oversee volunteers who help with sorting and other duties as assigned.
• When needed, calculate daily deposit, sales reports, and bank cash receipts as directed, safeguarding cash at all times.
• Assist the Thrift Store Manager in assuring safety of customers and employees, property, and buildings.
• Receive and assist in resolving complaints from customers regarding merchandise.
• Provide for excellent customer relations by giving prompt and courteous assistance to customers, ensuring that all merchandise has been properly priced.
• Attend store staff meetings as required and stay informed of new policies and directives.
• Assist with the loss prevention program, reporting all incidents of loss to the Store Manager in a timely manner.
• Report all accidents, injuries, and safety hazards.
• Report needs for maintenance and ensure store cleanliness inside and out.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of clients and other program related information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
