Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Thrift Store Supervisor in Marshalltown, IA to oversee all aspects of the store retail environment, including staff, donations, and store operations. You will support the Store Manager with scheduling, training, and supervision of clerks, ensuring policy compliance and a safe customer experience.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED and at least one year in retail, customer service, or a related field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of retail, management, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Word/Excel and timekeeping systems required.
• Strong communication and math skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with staff scheduling, training and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe retail environment for customers and staff.
• Manage cash register, sales reports, and end-of-day banking tasks.
• Work to achieve sales and budget goals and ensure profitability.
• Process donations according to established procedures.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and courteously.
• Driving is a required function for this position.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
