Job description

Cook 3 Requirements:

  • Good communication and advanced culinary skills.
  • 3+ years of professional cooking experience with a good understanding of ingredients, procedures, and kitchen best practices.
  • Ability to lead in their outlet, focusing on high-quality, timely food, maintaining their station, and coaching colleagues.
  • Responsible for preparing quality food, pleasing presentations, and meeting food handling and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set up your station timely, tasting to ensure quality of all mise en place. Take ownership of your station and proactively address issues.
  2. Maintain personal prep lists and manage daily activities with minimal oversight.
  3. Thorough knowledge of all menu items.
  4. Ensure all prep is completed before service, communicating needs to a manager if unable to finish in time.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, including cleaning stations and equipment, and managing waste.
  6. Assist with dishwashing and support team members during busy times.
  7. Work service with attention to detail, cleanliness, and promptness; support teammates as needed.
  8. Clean your station thoroughly at shift end, including all surfaces, equipment, and floors.
  9. Accurately fill out prep lists and communicate needs to management.
  10. Perform cross-training and assist with training new colleagues.
  11. Support management with orders and closing checklists.
  12. Contribute feedback on menu items and suggest improvements.
  13. Participate in weekly deep cleaning and maintenance projects.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of previous line experience preferred.
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic and intermediate cooking skills.
  • Ability to work multiple stations.
  • Moderate supervision and training required.

Locations include Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Austin, TX; Hyatt Regency Lake Washington in Renton, WA; and Miraval Austin Resort and Spa in Austin, TX.
