Cook 2 Requirements:
- Good communication and intermediate culinary skills.
- 1-2 years of professional cooking experience with a good understanding of ingredients, procedures, and kitchen best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned service periods with a focus on high-quality, timely food, and maintain your station and work area.
- Prepare quality food with pleasing presentation, meeting food handling and quality assurance standards.
- Set up your station promptly, tasting to ensure quality of mise en place, and take ownership of your station.
- Ensure all prep is completed before service, communicating needs to a manager if unable to finish on time.
- Assist in dishwashing when necessary, especially during busy periods.
- Thoroughly clean your station at the end of your shift, including scrubbing surfaces, equipment, and floors, and properly storing all equipment.
- Accurately fill out prep lists for station mates and prep team.
- Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
- Train new colleagues on station and menu items.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Refined verbal communication skills.
- Preferably 2 years of previous line experience.
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform all basic cooking skills.
- Able to work at a single station in the kitchen.
- Strong desire to satisfy others' needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
