Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks Third Mates to join our fleet operating on inland and coastal itineraries across the U.S. waterways. You will lead safety and watch duties, stand piloting watches, and support hotel and culinary teams while maintaining high professional standards.

Applicants must hold a USCG Master license with 100 GRT NC endorsement, TWIC, and have coastal/river piloting experience. This full-time role includes travel, room and board, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold USCG Master license with Near Coastal endorsement.
• TWIC card required for access to ports and ships.
• Piloting and boat handling experience on coastal and river waterways (6 months minimum).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Pre-employment drug test and ongoing testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Safe launch operations in compliance with standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Standing helm, security, and gangway watches in Deckhand rotation.
• Perform vessel cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics.
• Stand piloting watches under Captain or Mate instruction.
• Assist Engine Room Attendant with machinery and system maintenance.
• Support hotel and culinary teams delivering five-star guest service.
• Maintain logs, reports, and administrative records.
• Maintain exemplary grooming and uniform appearance.
