Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Third Mates to join our fleet serving inland and coastal waterways. You will lead watch standing, maintenance, and navigation tasks while upholding safety, grooming, and service standards for guests and crew.

Our team emphasizes professionalism, ongoing simulator-based training, and opportunities to advance in a role that blends piloting, deck operations, and guest service on premium ships. This is a full-time onboard position.

Qualifications

• Requires U.S. Coast Guard Master’s license (minimum 100 GRT with Near Coastal endorsement).
• TWIC credential required.
• Piloting and boat handling experience on coastal and river waterways (minimum 6 months, 1 year preferred).
• Self-disci plined work habits and professional grooming.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Perform safe launch operations in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Stand helm, security, and gangway watches in Deckhand rotation.
• Execute vessel cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics.
• Stand piloting watches under instruction of Captain or Mate.
• Assist Engine Room Attendant with machinery and system maintenance.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
• Maintain logs, reports, and administrative records.
• Maintain exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance.
