Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking Third Mates for our fleet to ensure safe vessel operations and exemplary guest service. You will stand watches, perform inspections, and support hotel teams while living aboard on extended itineraries along major U.S. waterways.

Applicants must hold a USCG Master’s license (100 GRT Near Coastal) and a TWIC, with piloting experience on coastal and river routes. A pre-employment drug test and ongoing random testing are required.

Qualifications

• USCG Master’s license with 100 GRT Near Coastal endorsement.
• TWIC credential required.
• Piloting/boat handling experience on coastal and river waterways: 6 months–1 year.
• Self-disciplined work habits and personal grooming.
• Pre-employment drug test and ongoing random testing.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Conduct daily vessel inspections and watch standing.
• Assist with piloting watches under Captain or Mate.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
• Maintain logs and administrative records.
