Foley Power Solutions invites aspiring technicians to join the ThinkBIG Electric Power Generation (EPG) Intern Technician program in Kansas City. This paid internship blends on-the-job training with school, rotating between Foley locations and ThinkBIG classes over two years.

You will gain hands-on experience with Caterpillar equipment, work under experienced mentors, and complete required assignments while maintaining good standing with both Foley and the ThinkBIG program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to participate in Caterpillar ThinkBIG curriculum.
• Curiosity and learning attitude toward technical training.
• Long-term career interest in power generation.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting interest.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Foley's safety culture and guidelines.
• Work with mentors to learn shop procedures and system workings.
• Learn to disassemble, assemble, and test generator components.
• Learn to use resistive load bank equipment for testing and repairs.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on power generation assemblies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs on gensets.
• Attend school and complete assignments, maintaining good standing with the program.
• Occasionally travel for training or to assist at other Foley locations.
