Job summary

Foley Equipment offers a ThinkBIG Electric Power Generation (EPG) internship beginning June 2027 for aspiring diesel technicians. You will receive hands-on training on Caterpillar equipment, earn an AAS degree, and gain over 2,000 hours of work experience while rotating between school and Foley locations in Kansas.

The program spans two years with housing arrangements required during rotations. Selected candidates gain exposure to disassembly/assembly/testing of generator components, and

Qualifications

• dependable and punctual at school and internship.
• eagerness to participate in Caterpillar equipment curriculum.
• mechanical aptitude demonstrated or from related experiences.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Foley's culture with safety as priority.
• Work with mentors to learn shop procedures and safety requirements.
• Disassemble, assemble, and test generator components.
• Use resistive load bank equipment for testing and repairs.
• Carry out repairs and preventive maintenance on power generation assemblies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs on gensets.
• Attend school and internship, maintaining minimum grade requirements.
• Complete assignments including internship tasks.
• Travel for training or to assist at other Foley locations.
