Foley Equipment invites aspiring technicians to join the ThinkBIG Electric Power Generation internship in Wichita, KS. The two-year program combines hands-on shop work with school courses at WSU Tech, earning an AAS degree while gaining over 2,000 hours of paid experience.

Interns rotate between ThinkBIG school sessions and Foley locations, typically 7–8 weeks per rotation, with housing arranged near school and location. Stipends during the internship help offset living and school expenses.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with disassembly, assembly, and testing of generator components.
• Learn to use resistive load bank equipment for generator testing and repairs.
• Assist with repairs and preventive maintenance on power generation assemblies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs on gensets.
• Attend school and internship activities, maintaining good standing in ThinkBIG program.
