Job summary

Genpak in Charlotte, NC seeks a Thermoforming Operator to operate six thermoformers, monitor quality, and document production logs. You will start up/shut down machines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure packaging material readiness while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

The role requires reading gauges, completing first piece inspections, and producing products to spec. Training is provided to achieve consistent quality across all products.

Qualifications

• Learn and operate all six Thermoformers within defined specification without assistance.
• Recognize heating/cooling problems and report issues immediately.
• Start up and shut down Thermoformers unassisted.
• Perform adjustments as needed without assistance.
• Check oilers on press and Thermoformers and fill as needed.
• Perform roll changes with minimal scrap.
• Read instrumentation gauges to record heat readings.
• Perform quality checks (burning, cold cracking and registration) per roll.
• Learn proper packaging for each product type.
• Stock packaging material at beginning of production run.
• Produce product with correct width, gauge, and weight.
• Able to use a fire extinguisher.
• Complete required paperwork: first piece inspection, production log.
• Get assistance to resolve issues to keep machines in operation.
• Maintain knowledge of quality of all products.
• Housekeeping: keep areas debris-free.
• Identify problems via data collection and interpretation, troubleshoot as needed.
• Interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Differentiate between 'good' and 'bad' quality.

Responsibilities
