Job summary

Genpak in Charlotte, NC seeks a Thermoforming Operator to run up to six thermoformers with minimal supervision, monitoring heat and making adjustments to meet specifications.

You will complete first piece inspections and production logs, report machine malfunctions, assist with packaging, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards on the line.

This role requires clear communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with supervision to ensure quality releases and efficient production workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience operating thermoformers and monitoring quality.
• Ability to read gauges and interpret heat readings.
• Proficiency in completing first piece inspection and production logs.

Responsibilities

• Operate up to six Thermoformers within defined specifications without assistance.
• Identify and report heating/cooling issues immediately.
• Start up and shut down machines unassisted.
• Make adjustments to equipment without help when needed.
• Check and fill oilers on trim press and Thermoformers at shift start.
• Perform roll changes with minimal scrap and downtime.
• Read instrumentation gauges to capture heat readings for each machine.
• Conduct quality checks for burn, cold cracking and registration per roll.
• Learn proper packaging for each product type and stock packaging materials.
• Produce product with correct width, gauge and weight.
• Maintain housekeeping and keep work areas free of debris.
• Complete required paperwork (first piece inspection, production log) accurately.
