Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Thermal Operator for the Swan Hills Treatment Centre in Alberta. The role involves safely operating the unit, recording readings, and writing logs in a 24/7 facility. On-call duties and ERT participation are required in emergencies.

The position supports a COR, ISO 17025, and ISO 45001/14001 compliant environment. Expect 10–12 hour day shifts, on-site work, and adherence to safety and regulatory policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year related industrial process-plant experience.
• Preference for 3 to 5 years’ related experience.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste treatment industry is a definite asset.
• Must obtain 100% on Facility Environmental Operating License Exam.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor assigned unit; record readings and logs.
• Assist in safe startup/shutdown and equipment monitoring.
• Writ daily logs and maintain housekeeping in all areas.
• Perform Emergency Response Team (ERT) duties as required.
• Participate in safety planning and pre-job risk reviews.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory policies.
