Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Utility Plant Operator II to monitor and operate all campus utility plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will oversee current and future ENGIE-operated plants, regulate performance of plant machinery, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

This role requires 12-hour shifts and on-site presence. Responsibilities include operating boilers, turbines, chillers, compressors, and associated equipment, troubleshooting, and training new engineers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State of Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer’s License with 2+ years experience required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take plant readings and monitor utility system performance.
• Respond to alarms and system conditions.
• Perform troubleshooting and inspection activities.
• Complete startup, shutdown and Lock Out/Tagout of equipment.
• Review and update plant SOPs and training material.
• Operate boilers, turbines, chillers, and related equipment.
• Assist in training new engineers.
• Maintain and clean plant equipment and building.
• Gather shift information for the next team.
