Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Utility Plant Operator II to monitor and operate campus utility systems, ensure safety, and optimize performance. The role covers a range of equipment including boilers, turbines, chillers, and pumps, with careful adherence to SOPs and environmental standards.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, shutdown/startup tasks, logkeeping, and assisting in training new engineers, while maintaining asset reliability and cross-shift knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State of Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Take plant readings and monitor utility system performance.
• Respond to alarms and system conditions.
• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment.
• Perform startup, shutdown and Lock Out/Tagout of equipment.
• Review and update plant SOPs and training materials.
• Operate boilers, turbines, chillers, and related equipment.
• Assist in training new engineers.
• Maintain and clean plant equipment and building.
• Gather shift information and relay to oncoming shift.
