Northrop Grumman is seeking a Thermal Engineering Manager 1 for Baltimore, MD to lead a team of thermal analysts in the Mechanical Analysis Section. The role includes functional and technical supervision of a Thermal Design and Analysis group, aligning people, processes, and tools to meet cost and schedule targets while delivering sensor systems across airborne, space, maritime and land environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience or higher; Master’s with 3 years; Ph.D. with 1 year.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.
• 5+ years of experience in thermal applications including electronics cooling, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Thermal Design and Analysis group with functional and technical oversight.
• Ensure people, processes and tools support program cost and schedule targets.
• Oversee thermal design of sensor systems in airborne, space, maritime and land environments.
• Attend internal and customer reviews, approve analyses/tests and conduct trade studies.
• Manage staffing plans, performance evaluations, roadmaps and hiring to meet demand.
