Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer – Level 2 to join our Space Systems Sector. This 100% onsite role involves designing, analyzing, and testing space hardware across antennas, sensors, and electronics chassis, from concept through hardware integration and test.

The candidate will perform thermal analyses, develop models, and contribute to design reviews. Requires STEM degree with 2 years’ experience (or Master’s with 0) and ability to obtain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
• Onsite daily at Linthicum, MD facility.
• Working knowledge of thermal analysis software (IcePak, Sinda/Fluint, Thermal Desktop) or similar.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication with team members.

Responsibilities

• Learn internal processes by working with senior thermal analysis staff.
• Perform steady state and transient thermal analyses of components and assemblies.
• Create system-level and subassembly thermal models, down to component junctions.
• Ensure compatibility with space environment requirements and test plans.
• Present at reviews and prepare technical reports and test plans.
• Provide guidance to programs and mentor junior engineers.
• Manage diverse workload and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
