Job summary

Northrop Grumman, based in Linthicum, MD, seeks a Staff Thermal Analysis Engineer to join our defense-focused team. You will lead electronics thermal analysis, derive requirements, articulate architectures, and mentor junior engineers across airborne, ground, and naval platforms.

Qualifications include a PhD/MS/BS with extensive experience in thermal engineering, strong design background for high power electronics, and DoD secret clearance or eligibility; travel up to 10% is required, onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience or higher (or equivalent).
• Master’s degree with 10 years of experience or higher.
• Ph.D. with 8 years of experience or higher.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronics thermal analysis across multiple platforms (airborne, ground, naval).
• Lead thermal designs: derive requirements, architecture, and performance; mentor engineers.
• Present findings orally and in writing to customers and stakeholders.
• Explore advanced electronics thermal management solutions using heat transfer principles.
