Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Section Manager 2 – Thermal Systems in Redondo Beach, CA. You will lead 15–20 engineers, directing thermal design, analysis and testing for spacecraft programs.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree with extensive design/analysis experience, and hold an active Secret clearance with TS/SCI potential. You will drive technical excellence and foster teamwork in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8+ years or Master’s degree with 6+ years in thermal design/analysis/test.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance required at application and ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of 15–20 engineers in thermal design, analysis, and test.
• Maintain and evolve thermal technologies for programs.
• Oversee 20% of time on leadership, staffing, and performance management.
• Support spacecraft programs with thermal, cryocooler, and propulsion engineering.
• Ensure requirements review, verification, and flow-down across program phases.
