Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy in Ridge, NY is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist Aide to join our team. You will work under supervision to support therapists, prepare supplies, and assist patients in therapy sessions.

The role offers a collaborative team environment with state-of-the-art facilities and a comprehensive benefits package. Monday-Thursday: 8am-6pm, with opportunities to grow within a multidisciplinary organization.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment used.
• Understanding patient needs and behavior.
• Knowledge of strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and behavior management practices.
• Ability to complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions.
• Maintain professional attitude and conduct for patient welfare.
• Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision.
• Prepare heat/cold packs, assist patients with exercises, and support pool activities.
• Ensure equipment operation by maintenance and troubleshooting; request repairs when needed.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and exercise routines to patients.
• Help prepare patients for therapy sessions by welcoming and assisting them.
• Answer questions and provide information to patients; alleviate fears.
• Keep patient information confidential and protect operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment by following procedures and rules.
• Sterilize and deliver equipment, position gear for therapist access.
• Prepare treatment room per procedures and protocols.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with good service.
• Monitor supplies; manage inventory and reorder as needed.
• Provide front desk coverage and assist with scheduling as required.
• Perform other front desk duties and assignments as needed.
