Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy in Ridge, NY, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Aide to join our full-time team. You will support licensed therapists, prepare treatment areas, and help patients with exercises, heat/cold therapy, and pool-related activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology.
• Knowledge of therapy equipment used in practice.
• Ability to observe, document, and report patient conditions and progress.
• Effective communication with patients, staff and supervisors.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy.
• Prep heat and ice packs; assist with paraffin; assist patients to pool; guide exercises and monitor exertion.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment; perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines.
• Prepare patients for therapy sessions; welcome and assist during entry into therapy.
• Provide information to patients and respond to questions; alleviate fears.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and uphold confidentiality.
• Provide supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment; position equipment and patients as needed.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with strong customer service.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with scheduling and front desk duties.
