Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy in Selden, NY is hiring Physical Therapist Aides to support therapists in a multidisciplinary clinic. You will prepare therapy materials, assist patients with exercises, operate treatment equipment, and help with front desk tasks during scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

• Cover 15-20 minutes from home office; you are responsible for transportation to and from work.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of the therapy equipment used.
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs.
• Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to successfully complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions.
• Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct for patient welfare.
• Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision.
• Help treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs; paraffin dips; assist to the pool; guide exercises.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment; perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Prepare patients for therapy by welcoming and assisting into sessions.
• Provide information to patients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering to the treatment area; position equipment.
• Prepare the treatment room for patients per prescribed procedures.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with exemplary service.
• Maintain supplies inventory and place orders for needed items.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed and assist with scheduling.
• Perform other front desk duties and assignments as required.
