Job summary

Ascension's St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join the Behavioral Health team on a PRN basis.

You will assess patients' ability to perform daily living skills, design and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and families about therapy options. You will supervise COTAs and therapy technicians, document progress, coordinate discharges, and ensure care aligns with established standards.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• OTR credential with Wisconsin license before start.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' ability to safely perform independent living skills.
• Design the plan of care including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implement the treatment plan with appropriate modalities.
• Document patient progress.
• Monitor and modify the plan of care; seek consultation as needed.
• Educate patient and family about deficits and therapy options.
• Plan/discharge patients and advise on adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee COTAs and therapy technicians per regulations and standards.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
• Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Documents findings of patient progress.
• Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Occupational Therapy (OT) license credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
