Job summary

Ascension Health in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist for a PRN role at Columbia Saint Mary's. The position supports patient independence with personalized plans and family education, within the Rehabilitation department on a weekend/holiday schedule.

You will evaluate, treat, and adjust treatment plans using evidence-based modalities to meet patient goals while coordinating with the care team for a safe transition home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate preferred.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date (AHA or ARC accepted).
• Registered Rehab Therapist (OTR) credentialed by Wisconsin Medical Examining Board before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients, promoting independence and addressing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges.
• Design and implement personalized care plans with appropriate modalities and frequencies.
• Continuously monitor progress and adapt treatment strategies to achieve best outcomes.
• Educate families and caregivers to support safe transition home.

• Empower Independence: You will evaluate and treat patients facing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges, identifying the specific barriers keeping them from living their fullest lives.
• Design Custom Care: Using your clinical intuition, you'll craft and implement personalized plans of care, selecting the modalities and treatment frequencies that best suit each unique patient's goals.
• Innovate & Adapt: Healing isn't linear. You will continuously monitor progress and pivot your treatment strategies in real-time to ensure the best possible outcomes.
• Educate & Advocate: You'll serve as a vital bridge for families and caregivers, providing the education and adaptive tools they need to ensure a safe, successful transition home.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Occupational Therapy (OT) license credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
