Sky Lakes Medical Center in Oregon seeks a Food and Nutrition Assoc. I/Baker - Dietary to join our on-site dietary team. The role requires 1–2 years of production or institutional baking experience and a solid understanding of sanitation standards.

You will operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment and follow detailed instructions to ensure safe, high-quality meals for patients. The position is full-time and on-site, with an emphasis on therapeutic diet preparation, patient tray

Qualifications

• Primary role - Baker with 1–2 yrs experience in production or institutional baking.
• General understanding of food sanitation standards and techniques.
• Knowledge in use and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, respond to pace changes, and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Setup and breakdown of dish room; ensure dishes are clean, sanitized, air dried and put away before each meal service.
• Setup and breakdown of cafeteria; prepare and serve all menu items, keep dining area clean and stocked.
• Prep for future recipes; follow recipes and prepare quality, nutritious food as delegated by Chef.
• Understand therapeutic diets and help patients make meal selections within all therapeutic diet orders.
• Deliver patient trays while following hospital sanitation protocols; assist with other tasks as needed.
• Follow health and safety standards to prevent cross contamination at all times.
