Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize and implement structured therapeutic activities for patients across units. This role supports pediatrics to geriatrics and works with nursing leadership to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in counseling psychology or a related field, with a Master’s preferred, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling psychology or related health field required.
• Master's degree in counseling psychology or related behavioral health field preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor therapeutic milieu and initiate structured interventions; advocate for patient rights.
• Provide leadership to unit staff regarding programming and interventions.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment with de-escalation strategies.
• Coordinate with families, physicians and health disciplines to align patient care interventions.
• Respond to crises and support nursing staff in providing patient care as needed.
