Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize, and implement structured therapeutic activities for patients across pediatric to geriatric populations. The role requires leadership of unit staff, collaboration with nursing, and ongoing assessment to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

The coordinator will oversee therapeutic interventions, respond to crises, assist nursing with daily patient care, and coordinate communications with families and physicians

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced practice.
• Active driver’s license may be required by department operations.
• BLS certification required.
• Crisis intervention training required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and implement structured therapeutic activities for patients.
• Provide leadership and guidance to unit staff regarding programming to maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic environment and de-escalate as needed.
• Develop and utilize therapeutic milieu activities and interventions.
• Assist in crisis intervention and respond to codes on the unit.
