Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help secure the store, greet customers, and support loss-prevention initiatives. The role emphasizes strong communication, vigilance at entrances, and reporting incidents to management.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor the store environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high-risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet customers with a warm, energetic greeting and maintain professional appearance.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Help train associates on shortage reduction programs and safety practices.
• Participate in store rallies and communicate theft prevention information.
