Job summary

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. seeks an Usher for the Chicago Theatre to ensure positive guest experiences during ingress, the show, and egress.

You will greet guests, provide directions, and help with line management while upholding safety and appearance guidelines. Responsibilities include scanning tickets, assisting with VIP packages and meet-and-greets, guiding patrons to seats, and reporting issues to Supervisors.

Qualifications

• Previous Usher, Ticket Taker, or Guest Relations experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with large crowds.
• Must be able to tolerate and work in a loud, fast paced environment.
• General computer proficiency and email communications are required.
• Maintain a professional manner, presence, and appearance always while on premises/duty.
• All candidates must be available to work 75% of the monthly show schedule (No guarantee of minimum hours).
• Must be comfortable with heights (working on high floor) and navigating steep steps and inclines.
• Must be willing to rotate to various positions within a shift.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide wayfinding assistance throughout ingress, event, and egress.
• Check aisles, rows, and seats for cleanliness and safety prior to showtime.
• Scan tickets and report invalid tickets to a supervisor.
• Assist with VIP packages, soundchecks, and meet-and-greets.
• Guide patrons to seats and answer guest questions efficiently.
• Support third-party vendors with pre-ingress setup as needed.
• Report safety or security concerns to Supervisors promptly.
• Turn in Lost and Found items to Supervisors.
• Adhere to event policies and participate in Emergency Operations drills.
