Job summary

Assemble Cinemas in Manhasset, NY is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Theater Manager in day‑to‑day operations and guest experience across screenings, events, and community programming. You will lead front‑of‑house operations, concessions, box office, staffing, and safety, stepping in as manager on duty when scheduled.

We value hands‑on leaders who are willing to roll up sleeves, assist with concessions, and work the floor.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory or shift leadership experience in theater operations, hospitality, entertainment, retail, or a related guest‑focused environment preferred.
• Experience directing staff, coordinating shift responsibilities, and supporting daily operations.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale and ticketing systems, cash handling, and standard business tools such as email, spreadsheets, and team messaging.

Responsibilities

• Support the day‑to‑day operation of the theater, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained environment for guests, staff, and community partners.
• Serve as manager on duty when assigned, direct shift activities, resolve routine operational issues, and exercise sound judgment regarding matters requiring escalation to the Theater Manager.
• Coordinate guest services, concessions, box office and ticketing, usher operations, and lobby coverage during assigned shifts.
• Maintain concession readiness, product availability, cleanliness, and service quality throughout each shift.
• Supervise ticketing and register activity during assigned shifts, ensuring staff follow approved sales and cash handling procedures.
• Coordinate Projection and designated staff to confirm readiness for screenings and events.
• Support the operational execution of private rentals, special screenings, and community events
• Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the facility during shifts.
