Job summary

Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA seeks an Assistant Professor of Theatre with expertise in acting. The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, direct 1–2 productions annually, and participate in student recruitment and mentorship.

Minimum qualifications include MFA in Acting or Directing, solid vocal method training, experience with Adler/Hagen/Meisner acting approaches, and at least three years teaching acting at college level; summer teaching may be available.

Qualifications

• MFA in Acting or Directing is required.
• Solid training in a vocal methodology.
• Significant training in Adler, Hagen or Meisner acting methods.
• Three or more years of university teaching acting experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2–4 courses per quarter in undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
• Direct 1–2 productions per year in various contexts (incl. plays, devised work, standard theatre, musical theatre).
• Assist in recruiting, advising and mentoring students in performance and musical theatre.
