Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance to begin August 15, 2027. The position focuses on acting and directing with responsibilities in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate students.

The candidate will teach six courses per year initially five plus one course release, direct one main stage production each semester, and contribute to general education.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Acting, Directing, or related theatre discipline.
• Evidence of professional acting/directing work and teaching experience.
• Commitment to advising undergraduate students.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 6-course load (five courses first year with one release).
• Direct one main stage production each semester.
• Advise and mentor Theatre and Dance students.
• Contribute to general education courses.
