Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an experienced attorney to handle exclusively Texas DTPA matters both pre- and post-litigation. The role focuses on delivering dedicated representation, strategic oversight of specialty litigation, and managing a focused caseload from assignment through resolution.

The attorney will oversee case assessment, discovery, motion practice, negotiations, hearings, mediations, and trial prep while aligning with Liberty Mutual's risk management and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of insurance attorney experience, preferably within first party property damage or Texas Deceptive Practices Act.
• Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation with favorable outcomes.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with e-discovery tools, legal case management software, and remote collaboration technologies.
• Ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys and staff.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Litigation Management: Independently manage all phases of litigation for moderate to heavy value claims.
• Litigation Support: Assist Senior Trial Counsel through trial, including prep and at every stage.
• Legal Strategy Development: Develop and refine strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial prep.
• Technology Utilization: Use e-discovery tools and case management tech to streamline workflows.
• Client Advisory: Provide clear legal opinions and strategic advice to clients and claims reps.
• Risk Evaluation: Identify and mitigate legal risks in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
• Training & Leadership: Design training sessions and mentor junior attorneys and staff.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all docs meet MRPC and company policies.
